Shipping Information

Makwa Studio ships using USPS First Class for all domestic US and international orders. Since items are handmade to order please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. You will receive an email confirmation once your item/s have been shipped along with a tracking number.

Return Policy

Please send me an email stating the reason for return or exchange within 5 days after receiving your package. Returns are accepted for full refund or store credit. All items must be unworn and unwashed. Makwa Studio reserves the right to decline any refund if items are damaged or held longer than 10 days after delivery. Once the returned item/s have been received, Makwa Studio will issue a refund for the item price only within 10 business days. Original shipping costs will NOT be refunded unless it is a result of our error and the buyer is responsible for any return shipping costs. When returning an item a tracking number is highly recommended as Makwa Studio is not responsible for any lost packages.

Note that all custom orders and items bought on sale are non refundable.

General Care

  • Store your piece in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or humidity.

  • Handle with clean hands to help preserve the natural fibers.

  • When not in use, store your item flat or in a breathable cotton bag.

Cleaning

Most wool pieces do not require frequent washing. If needed:

  • Spot clean using cool water and a mild wool-safe soap.

  • Gently blot the area with a soft cloth—avoid rubbing or scrubbing.

  • Never machine wash or tumble dry.

  • Lay flat to air dry completely, away from direct heat or sunlight.

MAINTAINING YOUR PIECE

Natural wool fibers may develop small pills over time with regular handling. This is a normal characteristic of wool and can be gently removed by hand or with a fabric comb designed for wool.

Avoid stretching or hanging wool pieces for extended periods, as this may alter their shape.

PROTECTING AGAINST MOTHS

As a natural fiber, wool can attract moths, especially when stored in dark, undisturbed areas. A few simple precautions can help protect your Makwa Studio piece:

  • Store wool pieces in a clean, dry place and avoid long periods of undisturbed storage.

  • Keep pieces in a breathable cotton or linen bag when not in use. Avoid storing wool in plastic for extended periods, as it can trap moisture.

  • Regularly inspect your piece, especially before seasonal storage.

  • Gently air out and refresh stored wool pieces from time to time.

  • Consider using natural moth deterrents such as cedar, lavender, or other aromatic sachets nearby.

If you notice signs of moth activity, such as small holes, loose fibers, or webbing, address the issue promptly to prevent further damage.
